About Me

My name is Matt Nienow (pronounced nee-no).

I hold an MFA in Poetry from the University of Washington, an AOS in Traditional Small Craft from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling (with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling) from Prescott College.

I am the author of multiple books of poetry and love building things in my wood shop even though I no longer take on projects professionally. I have been engaged in men’s work for many years and have benefitted from my own experiences in personal and relationship counseling. Over the past twenty years, I have also worked as an educator across a wide age span, teaching many different subjects. I love speaking Spanish and traveling in Latin America and I remain curious about many parts of the world I have not visited.

I am registered as an LMHCA in Washington State (MC61602164) and am supervised by Craig Isenberg (LF60510554).
